NFV
Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) is one of the clearest trends in today’s telecom world. Network nodes that traditionally have been stand-alone entities running on specialized hardware are now being deployed as Virtualized Network Functions (VNFs) on COTS hardware with the help of hypervisors. Virtualization is already happening in EPC core networks, and will be a key feature in 5G allowing cost efficient, versatile, flexible and scalable networks.
Needless to say, proper management of resources in the NFV Infrastructure is crucial in order to achieve the true benefits of virtualization. Our upcoming webinar gives a technical introduction to the NFV MANO (Management and Orchestration) as specified by ETSI.
