We at Apis Training are preparing for our next webinar, January 21st 2020. This webinar is about MANO – NFV Management and Orchestration. It was scheduled in December, but we changed the date in order to give you the best possible quality.

Introduction

NFV, or Network Function Virtualization, is one of these acronyms that pop into more and more discussions about… almost everything. It is essentially the standardization of bringing all computing and networking into the world of virtualization, and doing it in a stable and reliable manner. It is applicable to all Telco providers and vendors but equally so for large enterprises not at all related to telecommunications services.

NFV comprises a few distinct parts. We have the NFV infrastructure (NFVI), we have the actual virtualized Network Functions (VNFs) and managing it all we have the Management and Orchestration part, or MANO.

In this webinar, you will learn what NFV MANO is and what it isn’t. What it does and what it doesn’t do. What it knows, and what it doesn’t know. We will dive into the MANO to see the three constituent parts (VIM, VNFM, NFVO) and answer the same questions for these parts individually. We will also discuss how MANO is used, and go through common procedures that form the basis of managing an NFV environment.
