2G/3G/4G Catalogue

The Evolved Packet system – in daily life usually referred to as LTE or 4G – has successfully helped operators cope with the ever-increasing volumes of data traffic during the past decade. The LTE radio access network (officially called E-UTRAN) is based on OFDM and provides high capacity and peak bit rates using clever radio features such as multi-antenna technologies (MIMO).

Combined with the 4G core network (Evolved Packet Core) we also get proper support for real-time services over IP, e.g. VoLTE. Over the years, the LTE system has been enhanced and improved in order to handle IoT type of traffic. Those enhancements – called NB-IoT and LTE-M – allow for huge numbers of connected things with typically very different traffic requirements than regular smartphones.
